DESCRIPTION
The EI400AT is a small aperture housing for providing accent and task lighting. The EI400AT is designed for use in insulated ceilings where it will be in direct contact with insulation. It is an AIR-TITE housing designed to prevent air flow between living spaces and unconditioned areas.
Housing
Double wall aluminum construction helps dissipate heat. Housing is secured in plaster frame with spring barbs.The inner housing can be adjusted in the plaster frame to compensate for different ceiling materials.
Plaster Frame
Galvanized steel construction. The inner housing can be removed from the plaster frame to provide access to the junction box. Plaster frame includes locking screws for hanger bars and cutouts for crimping hanger bars in position.
Junction Box
U.L. listed for through branch circuit wiring. Positioned to accommodate straight conduit runs. Seven conduit knockouts are uniform 1/2" size with true pryout slots. Four “NM” cable pryouts with integral strain relief also included.
Bar Hangers
Pre-installed, captive bar hangers allow housing to be positioned at any point within a 24" joist span. Score lines provided for easy field shortening for 12" joists. Unique arrowhead design simplifies installation. Bar hangers can be repositioned 90°. Hangers fit onto T-bar spline for quick alignment and can be permanently secured with optional TB7 T-Bar clip (set of four).
Socket
Fixed position porcelain socket with nickel plated brass screw shell provides consistent lamp positioning. Shipping insert protects socket from overspray.
Thermal Protector
Self resetting thermal protector deactivates fixture if overheating occurs due to improper lamping.
